The BA Hons Urban Design is focused on the design of future cities and processes of urbanisation, informed by site-focused research. The programme emphasises interdisciplinary urban practices that bring together architectural design with ecological analysis and urban policy with grassroot initiatives. Students explore concerns for urban justice, global migration and the climate crisis through design projects that extend from high streets to planetary scales. A key aspect of the programme, that is possible to follow full-time or part-time, is the opportunity for work experience with leading London design practices, urban charities and NGOs. Students interested in joining the programme are encouraged to attend the Future Cities Summer School that introduces some of the key approaches in the programme.
