Planting the new Governors Island park

The new 30 acre park on Governors Island, New York, is taking shape. As reported in the New York Times this weekend, the design by Landscape Architects West 8 offers views across the bay while simultaneously playing with elevations and landforms. The island that sits just off the southern tip of Manhattan is managed by The Trust for Governors Island. It is open to the public throughout the summer.
